In soil, nitrogen (N₂O ) is produced by nitrifying and denitrifying microorganisms. When excessive nitrogen fertilizer is applied to farmland, it promotes microbial activity, converting nitrogen into N₂O through nitrification and denitrification . N₂O has a long residence time in the atmosphere and can be transported to the stratosphere, leading to ozone layer depletion and ozone holes. This exposes humans and other organisms to ultraviolet radiation from the sun, causing damage to human skin, eyes, and the immune system.
Among the various air pollutants emitted by industry, CO is the main one. These pollutants will fall into the soil through precipitation and natural sedimentation, reducing the land's productivity, deteriorating product quality, and causing serious harm to humans, animals, and plants.
The PS-3020 Portable Soil Nitrous Oxide/Carbon Monoxide Flux Measurement System is a portable measurement system that uses the gas chamber method to measure soil N₂O and CO flux emissions. The system includes control measurement, storage, and data processing functions.
The PS-3020 can read the concentration changes of N₂O and CO in the breathing chamber in real time. Simultaneously, it combines monitoring data from sensors such as air temperature, atmospheric pressure, and soil temperature to calculate the N₂O and CO emission flux values. The acquired raw data and calculated flux results are stored on an SD card.
The SC-12 portable soil breathing chamber enables automatic and repeated measurements. Lightweight and easy to carry and operate in the field, the SC-12 features a unique design for more accurate measurements.
The PS-3020 achieves wireless communication via a mobile app, allowing users to set various measurement parameters in real time and display the instrument's measurement results.
